Liz was born in 1968 in Florida. After living in various states and attending many different schools,
her family finally settled down in Georgia in 1986 where she graduated from high school. Liz then entered the
University of Georgia as a
music major, earning her Bachelor of Music degree.
While there, she studied harpsichord and organ, also sang in several ensembles, and played trombone in the
Georgia Redcoat Band for four years.
Two years later, Liz completed a Masters degree in Music History and Literature, also at UGA.
A scholarship then sent her to
Münster, Germany for a year, where she attended the
WestfälischeWilhelms-Universität.
Upon returning to the U.S. Liz continued working as an organist and also
taught music appreciation courses
at UGA. She began pursuing an interest in computer science and took some coursework in that area.
A few years later, she was accepted as a PhD student and teaching assistant
in music theory at the University of IowaSchool of Music.
After completing one year in the program she decided to change majors and moved to the
Management Information Systems
program in the College of Business. She graduated with with a Master of Arts in MIS, accepted a position with
Sprint and moved back to Atlanta.
Since then the corporate world, Liz has had experience as a J2EE developer and trainer at a number of companies.
She is currently a consultant in the Minneapolis area, but still stays active in music and several other hobbies.
